CARL SARGEANT AM WELCOMES LOCAL LOTTERY GRANT
Carl Sargeant, AM for Alyn and Deeside, is welcoming the news that the British Driving Society North East Wales group has been awarded a National Lottery Awards for All grant of £4722.
The funding will be used to produce promotional materials for their display stand which is managed by experienced carriage driving volunteers, and which promotes carriage driving throughout Flintshire, Wrexham, Denbighshire and North Powys. The stand will appear at local and county shows and events. The funding will also allow the group to hold an Introduction into Carriage Driving Day early next year. Mr Sargeant said: “The British Driving Society North East Wales is the latest local group to benefit from the Awards for All scheme. “Awards for All is supported by the Big Lottery Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund, and it awards grants of between £500 and £5,000 for people to take part in heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.“I would recommend that local groups explore whether they could benefit from this funding as the application process is straightforward and decisions are made within 12 weeks.”For further information, see http://www.awardsforall.org.uk/.
