CARL SARGEANT AM HIGHLIGHTS TIDY WALES WEEK
Carl Sargeant, AM for Alyn and Deeside, is urging people in Alyn and Deeside to get involved with Tidy Wales Week 2008, which takes place this week, from 23rd – 29th June.Mr Sargeant said: “Last year, tens of thousands of volunteers did their bit to clean up Wales in support of Tidy Wales Week. This year we want to get even more people involved.“This year, over 620 clean up events have already been planned by groups across Wales. Over 290 schools, 120 community groups, 30 Communities First partnerships, 13 Police/Fire Stations and 38 public sector agencies have already ordered clean-up kits.“To organise an event, or find out what is happening locally, visit http://www.keep/ walestidy.org.” Keep Wales Tidy has produced 1000 free clean-up kits which have been sponsored by Visit Wales – the Welsh Assembly Government's tourism team – and the Environment Agency Wales. The kits are available to anybody who wants to take part and organise an event as part of the week.
