
CARL SARGEANT AM WELCOMES NEW SHOPPING DEVELOPMENT
Carl Sargeant, AM for Alyn and Deeside, has welcomed the news that demolition has begun on the old Ffordd Llanarth Neighbourhood Centre and that the new centre will be completed within the next year.
The area around the old units has been fenced off and work has begun stripping the old units of fixtures and electrics.
The new centre which is due to open next year, will contain a Morrisons supermarket, interest from Subway, Greggs bakery, Rowlands pharmacy, Home Bargains, bookmakers William Hill and Bargain Booze also potential. The existing Dderwen Deg pub is remaining.
Mr Sargeant said: "I welcome the new development in Connahs Quay, residents will have the opportunity to buy food locally which is good both for the residents but also for the environment."
It is also expected that the new development will give the town’s economy a boost with many jobs expecting to be created.
