CARL SARGEANT AM CONDEMNS “MINDLESS” TRAIN VANDALS
Alyn & Deeside AM Carl Sargeant has spoken out after three separate vandalism incidents left two trains damaged and endangered lives.The three incidents that occurred on Saturday night and Sunday morning happened just before Shotton low level station. The first incident on Saturday night took place just after 8.30pm and the second just after 10pm. Both trains were seemingly damaged by objects hanging off a bridge over the railway with the first train suffering a smashed windscreen.On Sunday afternoon at 1.25pm a brick was thrown at train heading towards Flint.All three trains have been removed from service.Mr Sargeant said: “I am disgusted to hear this. These mindless individuals have risked the lives of the people travelling in these trains. I urge anyone who has any information to contact the British Transport Police on 0800 405040.”
