Carl Sargeant AM Encourages Alyn & Deeside to go ‘Red for Heart’
Carl Sargeant AM, alongside the British Heart Foundation (BHF), is encouraging residents of his Alyn & Deeside constituency to join National Wear Red Day on Friday 26th February 2010 and to follow the BEAT health code.
By wearing red, for a suggested donation of £1, participants will help the BHF save lives through pioneering research, patient care, campaigning for change and by providing vital information.
The campaign also raises awareness of the BEAT health code, which encourages taking simple steps to improve heart health. The code urges participants to Be active, to Eat healthily, to Avoid smoking and to Take the lifestyle check.
Carl said: “I’d urge anyone that would like to help raise awareness of heart health to take part in this campaign. The National Wear Red Day is a positive step in highlighting of this very important health issue and will no doubt encourage people to think a little bit more about how they look after their hearts.”
