Carl Sargeant SupportsAdult Learners Week
Alyn & Deeside Welsh Assembly Member Carl Sargeant is urging local residents to take part in Adult Learners Week.
Adult Learners' Week is the UK's largest and longest running learning campaign. Held each May, it encourages thousands of adults, whatever their age, and background, to give learning a go.
In partnership with the Welsh Assembly Government, NIACE Dysgu Cymru will hold over 700 learning events that can be accessed for free across Wales from the 15 to the 22 of May. The aim of the campaigns is to support the promotion of adult learning at a local level and to increase access to information, advice and guidance.
Carl Sargeant AM for Alyn & Deeside said,
“I really hope that local residents will get involved in the many local free learning events taking place across the County, this is a fantastic opportunity for residents to sample what learning opportunities are available to them.”

AM's Support For Charity

Carl Sargeant SupportsRe-launch of Older Persons Charity
Local Welsh Assembly Member Carl Sargeant has confirmed his support for an older person’s charity following its re-launch under a new name.
Age Concern Cymru has joined forces with Help the Aged in Wales to form a new charity called “ Age Cymru”; this will now be the most influential and best informed national charity for older people in Wales.
Carl Sargeant AM for Alyn & Deeside said,
“Age Cymru may be a new name but I am confident that they will build upon the excellent work that the previous two charities have undertaken locally to support and enable older people to flourish, whilst campaigning for the rights of older residents in Alyn & Deeside.”
